갤럽 설문조사에 따르면 미국 직장에서 인공지능(AI) 활용이 증가하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 해당 조사에 따르면, 일일 근무를 기준으로 약 12%의 성인이 AI를 사용하고 있다고 한다. 더욱 놀라운 것은 약 25%가 최소한 매주 몇 번씩 AI를 사용하고 있다고 응답했다는 점이다. 이는 2023년에 AI를 최소한 가끔씩 사용한다고 응답한 21%에 비하면 상당히 증가한 수치다. 이러한 증가 추세는 이메일 작성, 컴퓨터 코드 작성, 긴 문서 요약, 이미지 생성 등의 기능을 제공하는 생산형 AI 도구의 급격한 상업적 성장을 반영한 결과로 보인다.
주목할 만한 것은 AI 사용 빈도의 증가가 기술 관련 분야에서 더욱 두드러진다는 점이다. 기술업 종사자의 약 10명 중 6명은 정기적으로 AI를 사용하며, 3명 중 1명은 매일 AI를 사용한다고 한다. 기술 부문에서의 AI 상용화는 지난 몇 년 동안 크게 증가했지만, AI 사용률은 최근 들어 일정 수준에서 머물 가능성도 제기되고 있다.
또한 2025년 갤럽 조사 결과에 따르면, AI 사용이 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고 직원들의 상당수는 새로운 기술, 자동화, 로봇, 또는 AI가 향후 5년 이내에 자신의 직업을 없앨 것이라고는 생각하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 2023년에는 약 60%가 그렇게 믿고 있었던 것과 비교하면 불안감이 다소 약화된 모습이다.
산업별로 살펴보면, AI 사용 비율이 가장 높은 분야는 기술(77%), 금융(64%), 대학(63%), 전문 서비스(62%) 순이다. 반면, 제조업(41%), 의료(41%), 소매업(33%)에서는 상대적으로 낮은 비율을 보이고 있다. 이러한 수치는 AI가 여전히 특정 업종에서 더 널리 활용되고 있으며, 매년 그 차이가 부각되고 있음을 보여준다.
According to a Gallup survey, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in American workplaces has been on the rise. The survey indicates that approximately 12% of employed adults use AI on a daily basis, while about 25% use it at least several times a week. This marks a significant increase compared to the 21% who reported using AI at least occasionally in 2023. This upward trend highlights the commercial boom in generative AI tools that can write emails, generate computer code, summarize long documents, and create images.
Notably, the increase in AI usage is more pronounced in technology-related fields. About six in ten technology workers report using AI frequently, and about three in ten use it daily. Although the adoption of AI in the technology sector has grown considerably in recent years, there are signs that this growth may plateau.
In addition, a separate Gallup Workforce survey from 2025 found that even as AI use is increasing, a significant number of employees believe that it is "not at all likely" for new technology, automation, robots, or AI to eliminate their jobs within the next five years. This is a change from 2023 when about six in ten felt that such developments were unlikely to affect their jobs.
By industry, the sectors most actively using AI are technology (77%), finance (64%), universities (63%), and professional services (62%). In contrast, industries like manufacturing (41%), healthcare (41%), and retail (33%) show relatively lower percentages. These figures demonstrate that AI is still more prevalent in certain sectors, and these disparities continue to grow year by year.
